High Fat, Low Carb, Good News?
I had a right implant in February 2005 and underwent extensive therapy for four months in an attempt to achieve at least a 100 degree bend in the new knee. I was told by both my surgeon and therapists at the Orlando Sportsplex, that the total amount of flexiblility I could expect to recover would be realized by the end of four months.
Over four months later, my new knee would only bend to 95 degrees. I could not walk downstairs without going sideways, one step at a time.
I began exercising with Don’s Strength Training class over 2 ˝ years ago. My knee now bends 120 degrees and can walk downstairs normally.

The Meissner Wellness Massage Therapy Program is a Full Running Massage Therapy Program that offers Massage Therapy to Retirement Community Residents for 45 Weeks out of a 52 week year. A Retirement Community has the option of a 40 Hour per week or a 80 Hour per week Massage Therapy Program.

In general, massage therapy offers a welcome release of tension from frequent aches and pains. Treating chronic pain in the elder population is especially important because pain is prevalent in most seniors’ lives. Nearly 80 to 85% of people past the age of 65 will experience pain caused by a health problem. Of these seniors, 25 to 50% will admit to having significant pain, and of those living in retirement homes, this percentage increases to 45 to 80%. The shared experience of chronic pain coupled with decreased social contact at this point in their lives makes massage therapy a particularly effective treatment approach for seniors.
