Fitness Program
Don’s Strength Training class is a wonderful class to take – thanks to Don. This class tones and builds muscles as well as working on balance. Don is very calm and easy going which puts me at ease. He knows everyone’s name in the class which is amazing. This class also gives me the exercise I need and keeps my energy level up so that I don’t get lazy. It is also an opportunity to be with other residents if they join the class. I am very glad I have the opportunity to take this class at Lakewood Manor.

The Meissner Wellness Fitness Program offers a wide variety of Fitness Classes that run on a specific schedule throughout the day, week, month and year. The variety of classes allows residents to train and improve their strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular endurance at their own pace and on their own schedule.

1. Strong Body Circuit Training – Improve your strength, flexibility and endurance with a full body, strength training workout system designed to strengthen the muscles in your entire body.

2. Strong Heart Circuit Training – Improve your endurance, energy and the overall condition of your Heart and Lungs with a cardiovascular workout system designed to get you in better shape.

3. Nordic Walking – Make walking part of your life with a walking program that will help you get started and establish the self discipline necessary to see the results walking will do for your life.

4. Strength Train 4 Life – 36 Strength Training exercises for the entire body designed to increase your strength, endurance and mobility.

5. Yoga – 48 Simple Yoga Postures that will increase your flexibility improve your balance, posture and help you relax.

6. Tai Chi – 60 Tai Chi movements done in a slow manner designed to articulate all the joints in the body, improve muscle control, body coordination and balance.

7. Golf Conditioning – 24 Exercises recommended by Golf Pros that will improve your golf game.

8. Water Therapy – Water Therapy classes are a proven way to build muscle tone and strength, improve range of motion and relieve tension.
They are adaptable to all personal conditions, illnesses, injuries and post surgeries.

9. Lifestyle Weight Management – Wellness Class designed to teach participants how to eat right, exercise smart, maintain or lose weight and develop a healthy lifestyle.


10. Recreational Fitness - table tennis, pool, darts, shuffel board, bowling, horseshoes, croquet and a variety of other recreational games.
 
11. Employee Wellness – corporate fitness program that offers employees the opportunity to get healthy and fit right at their place of work.

12. World Dance – participants learn how to do a wide range of different dance movements from cultures all around the world.

13. Pilates – 30 Pilates exercises that will improve your core strength, body alignment and posture.

14. Spinning 101 – get in the habit of riding the stationary bike. Improve the strength in your legs, the health of your knees and the condition of your heart and lungs.

15. Balance Circuit Training – Over 20 different balance training exercises are given in this circuit training routine. Train your body and mind for better balance.

16. Wellness Lectures – 45 Minute wellness lectures are given every 2 weeks on topics such as exercise, nutrition, water, diabetes, preventing falls, depression etc..

17. Mind Fit – this time specific activity class will challenge each participant with puzzles, word association, creative writing, reading comprehension, memory training, mind games and more.

18. Progressive Relaxation – learn how to put your body into a deep state of relaxation with this 20 minute class. By reducing the overall tension in your whole body, you will feel less stress and enjoy increased physical and emotional health.

19. Senior Wellness Magazine – full of information on a variety of wellness issues, this magazine informs, educates and motivates people in establishing a healthier lifestyle.

20. Meissner Wellness TV – put your Retirment Community on center stage with self made TV shows on exercise, nutrition, memory tips, community events, life biographies, trips and activities.
